W is for Waiver

An AI generated image of a whimsical, red furred, anthropomorphic letter W. The W has googly eyes with curly eyelashes in the style of a Jim Henson Muppet.

In this reel, I talk about waivers.

Boilerplate provisions get a bad rap, but they're doing a LOT of heavy lifting in your contract.

A waiver provision protects you from setting unintended precedents. Just because you give a client a pass once doesn't mean you're giving them a pass forever.

Real example: a client pays late and you decide to let the late fee slide. So kind of you! But without a waiver provision, you could be stuck waiving that fee every single time.

With it? You're covered. Next late payment = late fee. No questions asked.

Your contract should always work as hard as you do. I’m always here if you're reviewing your contracts.
