H is for Headings

Contract headings are exactly what you think they are: headings and subheadings within your contract used to organize the different sections and make them easy to reference. And, no, you can’t delete this section.

Why? Because the headings clause within your contract is another boilerplate (remember, B is for Boilerplate). It says that the headings don’t give meaning or intent to your contract — they are just there for convenience.

One common example is a “good behavior provision,” which typically covers harassment. Thanks to the Headings clause, you’re still protected against harassment even though the section is called something different.
